A strategic vision for sustainable transformation
IYBA-SEED in Senegal aims to contribute to the construction of a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem by addressing systemic challenges and improving or reinforcing the services offered to businesses run by young people and women.
The Senegalese government's strong commitment to entrepreneurship and youth employment has enabled progress to be made, but challenges remain, notably a lack of coordination between entrepreneurship players.
Following the completion of a diagnostic study of the national ecosystem, IYBA-SEED Senegal identified three key areas for strengthening the Senegalese ecosystem:
Axe 1 : Structure the business development service offering
- Support business development service providers in improving their services and business models.
- Support the creation of a national consortium of private support providers, “Sénégal Accompagnement.”
- Ensure better synergy and complementarity between entrepreneurship players and between supply and demand.
- Develop an entrepreneurial culture among young people and women via a campaign to raise awareness and promote female entrepreneurship in Senegal.
Axe 2 : Create a collaborative framework favorable to business development
- Facilitate public-private dialogue at the national level and cooperation between ecosystem players.
- Organize thematic workshops and consultations at the national and regional levels.
Axe 3 : Support policy reforms in favor of entrepreneurship
- Support the operationalization of the Startup Act.
- Strengthen the capacity of public institutions to manage reform projects.
- Strengthen links between business service providers and public and private stakeholders.
